We often think of God speaking as something that happened in the past. We look at the Bible and think, "God *spoke* to them," as if His voice faded away with the passing of time. But the Scripture tells us that God has spoken to us by His Son—and this is not a past-tense event.
Jesus does not live in time; He lives in eternity. Because He is eternal, His Word is ever-present. In eternity, there is no "yesterday" or "tomorrow." When God speaks through His Son, that word is just as alive, powerful, and active right now as it was the moment it was spoken. His voice is not a fading echo from history; it is a constant, living reality.
When you open the Word, you are not reading an ancient transcript; you are encountering the Living Word who is speaking to you today. Everything He created and everything He established is sustained by the power of His present voice. If you are waiting to hear from God, remember that He has already spoken in the Person of Jesus, and that Word is currently active, relevant, and hovering over your life right now.
