We often think that being a Christian means having the power to fight every battle. But the Lord’s Prayer teaches us something better: God wants to lead us away from trouble before we even get there.
God does not want you to face every trap, pit, or evil the enemy puts in your path. Some dangers are not meant to be fought; they are meant to be avoided. You cannot escape every trap on your own, no matter how strong you are. You can only avoid them by following God’s direction.
True safety comes from being willing to obey. When you listen to the Holy Spirit and follow His lead, you are delivered before the fight even starts. You don't have to be a master at fighting if you are a master at following. When you stay close to God, He guides you around the traps that were meant to destroy you.

Are you trying to fight your way through every problem, or are you listening for God’s voice to show you a better way around them?
Prayer
Lord, thank You for being my Shepherd. Please lead me away from temptation and help me stay away from evil. Give me a heart that is ready to obey You instantly. Help me to follow Your direction today, knowing that Your way is the safest path. Amen.
