THE APPROVED WORKMAN

THE APPROVED WORKMAN

2 Timothy 2:15
"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."

We often think studying is just about passing a test or gaining information. But the Bible tells us to study for a much higher purpose: to be "approved unto God."

True study isn't just about reading; it is about becoming. We don't just study the Word or our professional craft to fill our heads—we study to become the living proof of what we have learned. When you study God's truth or your work with excellence, you are building a life that demonstrates that truth to the world. You are becoming the evidence of what you believe.

A worker who needs not to be ashamed is one whose life matches their knowledge. If you study integrity, you become a person of integrity. If you study excellence, your work becomes excellent. You are the product of what you study.

Supporting Scriptures

James 1:22: "But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves."

Proverbs 22:29: "Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men."

Colossians 3:23: "And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men."

Reflection

Are you just collecting information, or are you studying so that your life becomes the proof of God’s truth?

Prayer

Lord, help me to be a diligent student. May I not just learn about Your ways, but become the proof of Your Word in everything I do. Let my life be a clear reflection of the truth I study. Amen.

Action: Today, choose one principle you have learned recently and make a conscious effort to "show" it through your actions at work or school. Be the proof!
